Existing cloud Projects and chats do not sync in ChatGPT macOS app version 26.707.61608

What issue are you seeing?
After installing ChatGPT desktop app version 26.707.62119 on macOS
and signing in with the same ChatGPT Plus account and workspace,
none of my existing cloud ChatGPT Projects or chats appear in the
Projects view.
All projects and chats are visible on ChatGPT web and in ChatGPT Classic.
Force reload, sign-out, restart, and sign-in did not resolve the issue.
According to the ChatGPT desktop documentation, the Projects view should
include cloud ChatGPT projects and local projects.
Please check whether project synchronization is enabled for my account
or whether this is a known rollout issue.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: no-active-thread-019f5a66-62b5-76c0-bf61-8017c03b52db
What is the expected behavior?
After signing in with the same ChatGPT account, the macOS desktop app should display the existing cloud chats and ChatGPT Projects that are already available in the web version.
The desktop app should either:
- synchronize and display the same cloud projects and chats as the web version, or
- clearly explain that “ChatGPT Work” and “Codex” use separate local histories and do not display existing cloud ChatGPT Projects.
Currently, the interface gives no indication why the project and chat lists are empty.
Additional information
- Platform: macOS
- ChatGPT desktop app version: 26.707.61608
- Account type: ChatGPT Plus
- The same account is used in both the desktop app and the web version.
- All projects and chats are visible in the web version.
- The desktop app only shows two modes in the top-left selector:
- ChatGPT Work
- Codex
- There is no separate “Chat” mode visible in the selector.
- Switching between ChatGPT Work and Codex does not change the result: both project and chat lists remain empty.
- Signing out, restarting the application, and signing in again did not restore the projects or chats.
- The previous ChatGPT Classic app and the web version continue to show the existing account data correctly.
This may be either:
- a synchronization issue,
- an account migration issue,
- or unclear product behavior caused by cloud ChatGPT Projects not being supported in the new desktop interface.
