Codex CLI displayed my active ChatGPT Plus account as a Go subscription:

ChatGPT Plus had already been active on the same account since May 17, 2026. The Codex usage page also showed that the account had an active Plus subscription.
After running codex logout and signing back in with the exact same ChatGPT account, the displayed subscription immediately changed from Go to Plus.
During the affected period, my weekly Codex usage also appeared to deplete unusually quickly. OpenAI Support reviewed the account and stated that their server-side records showed Plus limits being applied, so the remaining issue is why the CLI held or displayed a Go entitlement until re-authentication and whether the stale state could have affected usage reporting.
The affected session logs and diagnostics were uploaded through /feedback.

What is the expected behavior?
Codex CLI should consistently recognize and apply the correct subscription entitlement associated with the authenticated ChatGPT account.
An active ChatGPT Plus account should be identified as Plus and should receive the corresponding Plus usage limits without requiring the user to log out and re-authenticate.
The displayed subscription tier, the server-side entitlement, and the applied usage limits should remain synchronized and accurate throughout the session.
Additional information
OpenAI Support confirmed that my ChatGPT Plus subscription has been active since May 17, 2026 and stated that their records show Plus usage limits were applied during that period.
However, this does not explain why Codex CLI explicitly identified the same account as (Go) and changed to (Plus) immediately after logout and re-authentication.
During the affected period, my weekly Codex allowance also appeared to deplete unusually quickly and repeatedly interrupted my development work. This eventually caused me to move a significant portion of my coding workflow to another provider despite preferring Codex.
I am reporting this issue to determine whether the incorrect tier shown in the CLI was connected to stale authentication, an entitlement synchronization issue, incorrect usage reporting, or another problem affecting the applied limits.
The affected session logs and diagnostics were uploaded through /feedback.
