[macOS] Nested rectangular rendering artifacts when restoring the ChatGPT/Codex window using the Genie effect

When restoring the ChatGPT/Codex desktop window from the Dock using the macOS “Genie effect,” multiple nested rectangular rendering artifacts appear inside the window.

The artifacts look like previous animation frames are not being cleared correctly. They accumulate from the bottom of the window and form multiple layers of progressively smaller rectangles.

This is visible to the naked eye. It is not a camera rolling-shutter artifact. I recorded a video only to document the behavior.

The issue still occurs after reinstalling the latest desktop app.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Open the ChatGPT desktop app in Codex mode.
2. In macOS System Settings, go to Desktop & Dock.
3. Set “Minimize windows using” to “Genie effect.”
4. Minimize the ChatGPT/Codex window to the Dock.
5. Restore the window from the Dock.
6. Observe the nested rectangular artifacts during the restore animation.

What is the expected behavior?

Actual behavior

Multiple historical window frames appear to remain visible during the restore animation, producing layered or nested rectangular artifacts near the bottom of the window.

Expected behavior

The window should restore smoothly without duplicated frames, ghosting, or nested rectangular artifacts.

Workaround

Changing the macOS minimize animation from “Genie effect” to “Scale effect” completely prevents the issue.

The problem appears to be specific to the interaction between the ChatGPT/Codex window and the macOS Genie animation. The Scale animation works normally.
