Windows Desktop freezes when resuming a task that is waiting for approval while Android Remote Control can continue normally

What issue are you seeing?

When reopening a specific completed task, the Windows Codex Desktop UI freezes every time.

The task completed successfully through Android Remote Control after multiple approval prompts, and all files were saved correctly.

However, the Windows UI never recovers, CPU usage remains around 14%, and the same issue is reproducible even after restarting Windows.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Open Codex Desktop on Windows.
2. Open the affected task from the left sidebar.
3. The task view shows “New task” and the UI immediately becomes unresponsive.
4. CPU usage for the ChatGPT/Codex process rises to about 13–14% and remains there.
5. Restart Windows and repeat steps 1–3.
6. The same task freezes the UI again every time.

Original occurrence:

1. Run a long Codex task that requires multiple file-write approvals.
2. The Windows UI stops updating and does not show the approval prompts.
3. Open ChatGPT on Android and use Remote Control.
4. Approve the pending file-write requests 7–8 times.
5. The task completes successfully on Android and the files are saved.
6. Reopen the same task on Windows; the UI freezes again.

What is the expected behavior?

The task should open normally after completion.

If file-write approval is required, Codex Desktop should display the approval prompt.

After approval, the Windows UI should update correctly, the task should remain accessible, and reopening the task should not freeze the application.

【発生状況】

AI Company Operating System GUI Version1 の最終リリース整理作業中に発生しました。

Windows版Codex DesktopのGUIが更新されなくなり、

・CPU：約14%
・メモリ：約850MB
・ファンは継続して動作

という状態でした。

音声入力機能自体は起動できたため、Codex本体は完全停止していないように見えました。

しかしGUIは一切操作できず、チャット画面も更新されませんでした。

【Androidで確認】

約3時間待機しても改善しなかったため、

Android版ChatGPTの「リモートコントロール」を確認したところ、

Codexが赤色表示となり、

「Codexへの更新（書き込み）の承認」

で停止していることが分かりました。

Android側で7〜8回承認すると、

正常に最後まで処理が完了しました。

【保存確認】

作業フォルダでは

・aios-gui-v1-release-notes.md
・aios-gui-v2-handoff.md
・next-action.md

など今回作成したファイルは正常に保存されていました。

Codexからも正常な完了報告を取得しています。

【再起動後】

Windowsを再起動しましたが、

問題のタスクを開くと

「New task」

が表示された直後にGUIが再びフリーズしました。

・CPU：約13〜14%
・メモリ：約840MB

Windows再起動後も100%再現しています。

一方、

Codex Desktop自体の起動やAbout画面は正常です。

【その他】

フリーズ画面をスクリーンショットで保存しようとしましたが、

Windowsのスクリーンショット操作自体が反応せず取得できませんでした。

現在はOpenAIで調査いただけるよう、

問題のタスクは削除せず保持しています。
