Codex Desktop: allow browsing full ChatGPT web chat history when importing chats

Feature request

Codex Desktop should allow users to browse and search the full ChatGPT web chat history when importing a ChatGPT chat into Codex.

Current behavior

In the Codex Desktop sidebar, clicking Chat opens an import/recent-chat popover. The popover only shows a short list of recent chats. There does not appear to be a way to browse the full ChatGPT web chat history from this import UI.

This makes it hard to import the exact ChatGPT web session that is needed, especially if it is older or not one of the few recent chats shown.

Expected behavior

The import UI should support finding any available ChatGPT web chat, for example by adding:

  • A full chat-history browser.
  • Search across ChatGPT web chat titles/content.
  • Pagination or infinite scrolling beyond the small recent-chat list.
  • Filters such as recent, pinned, archived, or project/workspace if applicable.

Why this matters

A common workflow is to start research, planning, interview prep, or debugging in ChatGPT web, then continue the work in Codex Desktop where the agent has local workspace access. If the import UI only exposes a tiny recent list, users cannot reliably move the right prior session into Codex.

Environment

  • Product: Codex Desktop app
  • Area: Sidebar Chat import / recent chats popover
  • Platform: Windows Desktop
