UI performance degradation on long sessions

What steps can reproduce the bug?
The performance degradation gets worse as the size of the conversation increases. After about an hour in the same chat all UI related features slow down considerably - Thinking animation gets choppy, clicking in the chat input takes a few seconds to remove the placeholder text and move the cursor to the beginning, if I try to type while it's like that it misses keystrokes, and scrolling up the conversation history is a challenge.
VS Code restart and even a computer restart does not fix it.
The only "fix" I've found to work is to open a new chat.

I don't think we've observed this behavior and haven't had any other reports of it, so I'm going to close.
I'm having the same issue. I'm working on VSCode with the Codex extension, with some messages the chat had becomed very slow, but after a couple more it is unusable, almost impossible to click anything. When I exit the chat, it takes some time but then the UI is usable again.
