ChatGPT Desktop / Codex version 26.707.72221, released July 14, 2026.

Windows 10 22H2
Windows build: 19045.0
GPU: RTX 4060 Ti
GPU driver: Latest version available from the GPU manufacturer
Display scaling: tested on multiple, 100 or 125 %

What issue are you seeing?

• The Close button in the upper-right corner disappears.
• The prompt composer flickers.
• Part of the text inside the Chat, Feedback or Settings interfaces is sometimes rendered as solid rectangular blocks instead of readable characters.
• The issue also occurs when the application window is not maximized.

I did not experience these exact problems before updating to version 26.707.72221. An older rendering issue could previously be worked around by disabling the translucent sidebar, but since the text in the settings is not readable (rectangular blocks), I cant test it.

What troubleshooting have you already tried?

• Fully restarted the application.
• Restarted Windows.
• Used Windows Settings → Apps → ChatGPT → Advanced options → Repair.
• Used Windows Settings → Apps → ChatGPT → Advanced options → Reset.
• Uninstall/reinstall the application

1. Start ChatGPT Desktop 26.707.72221 on Windows 10.
2. Open Codex or Chat.
3. Observe flickering, missing UI regions, failure to repaint, or text rendered as rectangular blocks.
