After updating to ChatGPT Desktop (Powered by Codex & OWL) version 26.707.72221, I am consistently experiencing issues when creating Codex tasks.

The desktop application frequently fails to create a task, eventually reports a timeout, and sometimes freezes completely during the process.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Launch ChatGPT Desktop.
2. Switch to Work or Codex.
3. Create a new task.
4. Click "Send" or "Create Task".

• A new task should be created successfully.
• The desktop application should remain responsive.
• Codex should start executing the task normally.

• Task creation hangs for a long time.
• Eventually it reports "Task creation timeout".
• Sometimes it also reports "Unable to start task".

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Launch ChatGPT Desktop (Powered by Codex & OWL).
2. Switch to Work or Codex mode.
3. Create a new task.
4. Enter any prompt and click Send or Create Task.
5. Wait for the task to initialize.

Result:

• The application remains in the "Creating task" state for an extended period.
• Eventually it reports "Task creation timeout".
• Sometimes it reports "Unable to start task".
• A Feedback ID similar to the following is shown:

• In many cases, clicking Send also causes the desktop application to freeze or become unresponsive.

What is the expected behavior?

Creating a task should complete successfully within a few seconds.

The desktop application should remain responsive while the task is being created, and Codex should begin executing the task without reporting timeouts or thread-related errors.
