I cannot download the images generated by ChatGPT, and the download button is positioned right next to the minimize button.

What is the expected behavior?

I would like to enable a feature for downloading images and position the download button next to the image (for example, in the top-right corner).

This bug is still happening. Can't download images at all through desktop app on Windows. Tried to on two separate machines. Click the download button and absolutely nothing happens.

Additional Windows reproduction on the current Store package.

Environment

Windows 11 Pro x64, build 26200
Microsoft Store package OpenAI.Codex 26.814.5517.0

Observed

Generated images render and open correctly in Chat mode.
Clicking Download produces no Save dialog, no visible error, and no new file.
ChatGPT image assets downloaded successfully through Chrome during a control check.

Read-only checks

No relevant Windows Controlled Folder Access block was recorded for ChatGPT/Codex.
No related application crash or hang was recorded during the affected session.
No new image file appeared after the desktop-app attempt; the two latest ChatGPT PNG files were confirmed as Chrome downloads.

This confirms that the issue is still reproducible on 26.814.5517.0 and is not explained by a general Downloads-folder write failure. No account identifiers, local paths, conversation IDs, image contents, or raw logs are included.
