Codex Extension Hangs Indefinitely and Causes VS Code to Crash on Ubuntu

What issue are you seeing?

I am experiencing an issue with the Codex extension in VS Code on Ubuntu.

Sometimes, the spinner in the extension keeps loading indefinitely, and the chat does not proceed. At other times, VS Code terminates unexpectedly (crashes).

The following message appears when VS Code crashes:

The version of VSCode is: 1.129.0

What steps can reproduce the bug?

When I open VSCODE and I try to open Codex extension one of the two problems I mentioned arrives.
