Codex Windows desktop app: spell-check flags errors but provides no correction suggestions In the Codex desktop text composer, misspelled words receive the normal red squiggly underline, but right-clicking displays “No Guesses Found.” This occurs even with obvious misspellings such as teh, speling, and wongg. Steps to reproduce 1. Open a Codex task on Windows. 2. Type teh, speling, fluidddity, or wongg. 3. Right-click an underlined word. 4. The context menu displays “No Guesses Found” instead of spelling suggestions. Troubleshooting completed - Windows English (United States) language pack is installed. - Windows “Basic typing” is installed. - US QWERTY keyboard is selected. - Computer and Codex app were restarted. - The problem persists after reboot. - ChatGPT in a web browser on the same computer provides spelling suggestions normally. Expected behavior Right-clicking an underlined misspelling should offer likely replacements, particularly the for teh. Observed behavior Misspellings are detected and underlined, proving that spell-check is active, but the suggestion component returns no candidates. Occurred July 17, 2026, approximately 5:44 PM Eastern.
