Windows regression: Chat / Quick Chat sidebar entry missing in Codex 26.715.12143

Issue

The Chat / Quick Chat entry that previously appeared in the Codex left sidebar is no longer visible.

The sidebar currently shows New task, Projects, Pull requests, Sites, Scheduled tasks, and Plugins, but no Chat / Quick Chat entry.

The top-left product switcher correctly contains both ChatGPT and Codex. The Quick Chat keyboard shortcut still works, confirming that the feature itself is available and only the convenient sidebar entry is missing.

Steps to reproduce

1. Launch ChatGPT Desktop 26.715.12143 on Windows.
2. Switch to the Codex view.
3. Check the left navigation sidebar.
4. Observe that Chat / Quick Chat is absent.
5. Invoke Quick Chat using its keyboard shortcut.
6. Observe that Quick Chat opens successfully.

Expected behavior

Quick Chat should remain directly accessible from the Codex sidebar, allowing a lightweight conversation without leaving the current Codex task.

Actual behavior

The sidebar entry is missing, although the keyboard shortcut still works.

Additional information

The July 16, 2026 release notes state that Quick Chats remain available. This may be a Windows navigation regression or an incomplete UI rollout.
