[ChatGPT Atlas] GitHub "Connect now" flow in Codex briefly opens a blank view, then closes
What issue are you seeing?
In the ChatGPT Atlas desktop app on macOS, I open the Codex Settings page hosted at chatgpt.com. The banner says "Your GitHub account is not connected. Connect now." Clicking "Connect now" briefly replaces the page with a blank/dark loading or login view, then immediately returns to the same settings page. No usable GitHub OAuth/login flow remains open, no error is shown, and the account is still disconnected. This makes it impossible to connect GitHub.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Open the ChatGPT Atlas desktop app.
- Navigate to Codex Settings (the recording is on the Analytics page).
- Click "Connect now" in the banner that says the GitHub account is not connected.
- Observe that a blank/dark login/loading view flashes briefly.
- The settings page immediately returns and the account remains disconnected.
Repeated attempts show the same behavior.
What is the expected behavior?
The GitHub OAuth/login page should remain open long enough to sign in and authorize the connection. After authorization, Codex should return to Settings and show the GitHub account as connected.
Additional information
Observed on July 19, 2026 on macOS in ChatGPT Atlas Version 1.2026.189.0 (a9625bf2e35). The chatgpt.com address visible in the recording is the page displayed inside ChatGPT Atlas, not a separate web browser or the Codex desktop app. No error message is displayed. The attached 2.7-second screen recording shows the settings page alternating with the brief blank/dark auth view.
