Auto-scroll follows generated text instead of keeping the beginning of the response visible

What issue are you seeing?
When ChatGPT starts generating a response, the conversation automatically follows the bottom of the generated text.
In previous versions of the macOS app, the beginning of the assistant's response remained visible, allowing me to start reading immediately while the rest of the response continued to generate below.
With the current version, the viewport continuously scrolls down as new text is added. By the time I want to read the response, I have to manually scroll back to the beginning because the app has followed the end of the generation.
This significantly reduces readability, especially for long responses.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: no-active-thread-019f7ebf-ebe1-73c2-be83-9bf8ffeba27d
What is the expected behavior?
The viewport should remain anchored at the beginning of the assistant's response once generation starts.
The response should grow downward naturally, allowing users to read from the beginning while the remaining text is still being generated.
Auto-scrolling should only occur if the user explicitly scrolls to the bottom or chooses to follow the live generation.
This was the behavior in previous versions of the macOS application and provided a much better reading experience.
Additional information
Platform: macOS
Issue appeared after updating to the latest ChatGPT desktop application.
The issue is especially noticeable for long responses.
This appears to be a regression rather than an intentional UX improvement.
A user preference to disable automatic follow-scrolling would also solve the problem.
