What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.715.31925 (bundle 5551)

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Plus

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

Immediately after updating the desktop app to version 26.715.31925, my previous ChatGPT cloud conversation history disappeared.

This is specifically about normal ChatGPT conversations stored in my OpenAI account, not Codex local sessions or project tasks. These conversations were previously synchronized and visible across the desktop app, chatgpt.com, and my other devices.

After the update, the same previous conversations are no longer visible on the desktop app, chatgpt.com, or my other devices. I can still sign in and use ChatGPT normally.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Before the update, my previous ChatGPT conversations were visible normally across devices.

Update the desktop app to version 26.715.31925.

Relaunch the app and sign in using the same OpenAI account and workspace.

Open the ChatGPT conversation history.

The previous conversations are missing.

Sign in to chatgpt.com and another device using the same account.

The same conversations are missing there as well.

The problem began immediately after the app update on July 19, 2026 (Asia/Shanghai).

What is the expected behavior?

Updating the desktop app should not remove or hide existing ChatGPT cloud conversation history. All previous conversations should remain synchronized and visible across the desktop app, chatgpt.com, and other devices.

Additional information

I am using the same OpenAI account, email address, sign-in method, and workspace.

I did not delete or archive these conversations, did not use “Delete all chats,” and the missing conversations were not Temporary Chats.

Because the conversations disappeared across multiple clients, this does not appear to be a local cache or sidebar-only issue. Please investigate whether the app update triggered an account-level history synchronization, migration, or indexing problem.

This report concerns ChatGPT cloud conversation history, not Codex local sessions.
