What steps can reproduce the bug?

Uploaded thread: 019f8322-b033-74a0-af41-b785ba96b93b

What is the expected behavior?

I expect that. Codex CLI will have a similar theming. mechanism to Claude Code such that I can create a custom theme and even change it on the fly and it will affect the rest of the conversation
Currently my Claude Code is configured such that when a certain hook is fired. the theme changes so that when I continue prompting after the OS theme changes and the terminal theme changes, the agent theme adapts

Additional information

so far, I've observed in Codex CLI that after the OS theme changes, in order to get Codex to look right, I must first change the theme to the opposite theme and then fully restart Codex, otherwise the rest of the conversation won't adapt, nor the text box
