openSUSE Leap 16 (Linux 6.12.0-160000.35-default x86_64 x86_64)

What issue are you seeing?

Codex GPT 5.6 Sol consistently does not hard-wrap commit messages. It also ignores direct instructions about that in the AGENTS.md, and acknowledges that it ignored those instructions when asked.

Sol proposed a git hook to enforce a 72 character limit. Amusingly, it consistently writes lines at 73 on the first rewrite attempt. So it takes three attempts to get the desired wrap.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Ask it to commit some changes.

What is the expected behavior?
