26.721.3996.0(Microsoft Store/AppX).The same class of problem occurs in ChatGPT conversations opened through Chat mode inside Codex Desktop: when the assistant presents a file for download, the file/link cannot be used to retrieve the file from the desktop client. The user report is not limited to Markdown; the observed symptom is that files offered by the chat do not download.
Expected: generated-file links or attachment controls should open or download the file normally, with behavior consistent with ChatGPT web.
Actual: the offered file is not downloadable from the Codex Desktop Chat-mode surface.
