Codex Chrome plugin returns invalid tab IDs (-1) and cannot control Chrome

What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
Chrome still does not work.
What I verified:
- Chrome plugin: installed and enabled.
- Chrome: running.
- Extension: installed and enabled in both profiles.
- Native connection: valid.
- Chrome exposes two tabs, but both have invalid ID -1.
- Attempting to control either tab fails with: “Expected a positive integer.”
So the reinstall did not fix the underlying Codex/Chrome integration defect. I made no further changes.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?
Codex should return valid positive Chrome tab IDs, successfully claim the selected tab, and allow navigation, inspection, and interaction through the user’s active Chrome profile.
