Chat jumps upward while AI response is streaming

While ChatGPT is generating a response, the conversation continuously shifts upward instead of staying anchored to the latest message. The viewport jumps as the message grows, leaving unnecessary empty space below and making the reading experience feel unstable. The scroll position should remain locked to the bottom of the active conversation while streaming, unless the user manually scrolls away.

The issue happens to me as well making ChatGPT simply unusable. After every response need to scroll up to see the answer.
I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour on the Windows ChatGPT desktop app.
One additional detail that may help reproduce it:
The viewport starts moving even when there is a large amount of unused space below the response. The assistant's reply often only occupies the top third of the window, but every new line still pushes the text upward, leaving most of the page blank while the content I'm reading disappears off the top of the screen.
In the previous Classic interface, the page remained stationary while the response was streaming, which made it easy to read as the answer was being generated.
This new behaviour makes long responses very difficult to read because the viewport continually jumps while the assistant is typing.
