Feature request: let AirPods stem mute Live Codex Voice input

ChatGPT desktop app on macOS, using the new continuous Live Codex / ChatGPT Voice mode.

What feature would you like to see?

Please support the AirPods stem press as a microphone mute/unmute control during an active Live Codex Voice conversation.

Problem

When using the new mode for an ongoing, hands-free conversation while Codex works, it is natural to use the AirPods hardware control to quickly stop the system from hearing ambient conversation or to resume speaking. Today, the AirPods stem control does not appear to mute the Live Codex Voice microphone.

Proposed behavior

• A supported AirPods stem gesture toggles the Live Codex Voice microphone between muted and unmuted.
• The Voice UI clearly confirms the state change with a microphone indicator.
• The behavior is reliable when the desktop app is not in the foreground.
• It should not be confused with muting ChatGPT's audio output or pausing media playback.

Why this matters

This improves privacy, reduces accidental background capture, and makes long-running voice-guided Codex work more practical without reaching for the keyboard or mouse.
