Windows desktop: workspace edit sandbox fails with “setup refresh had errors”

What happened

Codex Desktop can read my local .NET workspace but cannot apply any file edits.

Every attempted edit fails before reading the target file with:

windows sandbox helper failed with status exit code: 1:
windows sandbox failed: helper_unknown_error: setup refresh had errors

Expected behavior

Codex should be able to edit files inside the explicitly permitted workspace.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open the workspace in Codex Desktop on Windows.
2. Ask Codex to edit an existing source file.
3. Codex attempts to use apply_patch.
4. The sandbox helper fails with the error above.

Troubleshooting already attempted

• Restarted Codex Desktop.
• Reopened the workspace.
• Confirmed the project is readable.
