What issue are you seeing?
When I ask Codex to show task progress, it initially displays the progress bar correctly with all planned steps. For example, a task may show ten steps and accurately advance through the early steps.
Before the task finishes, the progress bar stops being shown. This can happen around step five, or at another point before completion. The task may still be active, but its progress is no longer visible in the UI.
I observe this repeatedly during longer tasks.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?
Steps to reproduce
- Start a task with multiple concrete steps, such as ten steps.
- Ask Codex to display task progress.
- Confirm that the task-progress bar initially appears and shows the complete step list with the current step highlighted.
- Continue the task until several steps have completed.
- Before the task completes, observe that the progress bar is no longer shown.
Once task progress is shown, the progress bar should remain visible and continue to reflect completed and active steps until the task reaches a terminal state.
