Make thumbs-up feedback one click and detailed feedback optional
What feature would you like to see?
In the Codex desktop app, clicking the thumbs-up button on an assistant response opens a follow-up popup asking what went well and requesting more details every time.
Please treat the initial thumbs-up click as a complete positive-feedback submission. The detailed feedback step should be optional—for example, an unobtrusive Tell us more action that users can choose after the rating has already been recorded.
It would also be helpful if dismissing or skipping the detailed form did not interrupt future thumbs-up actions with the same popup every time.
Why is this useful?
I am happy to give creators a quick positive signal with one click when a response was useful. Being prompted for detailed comments on every thumbs-up adds friction and discourages lightweight feedback.
This change could increase the amount of positive feedback submitted while still preserving the option to provide richer details when a user has the time or something specific to share.
Related issues
This is related to the feedback-control UX discussed in #18802, but it is a distinct request: that issue concerns the selected visual state, while this request concerns making the follow-up details form optional.
