What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.721.41059

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Plus

What platform is your computer?

Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (x64)

What issue are you seeing?

Work-related items created from the Windows ChatGPT App are not consistently synchronized across devices.

Regular chats synchronize normally between Windows App, Web (Edge), Android phone, and Android tablet.

However, Work-specific objects created from the Windows App remain visible only inside the Windows App.

The issue affects multiple Work-related features, not just a single conversation.

Examples observed:

  • Continue in Work conversations
  • Scheduled items
  • Project Work conversations

These objects are visible in the Windows App but never appear on ChatGPT Web or Android using the same account.

Interestingly, Work chats created from ChatGPT Web synchronize correctly to both Windows App and Android.

This indicates that synchronization itself is working, but Work-related objects created from the Windows App are not consistently propagated to other clients.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: no-active-thread-019fb342-68bf-7c02-be86-4e71b670c475

What is the expected behavior?

All Work-related objects should synchronize across all ChatGPT clients using the same account.

Windows App, Web, Android phone, and Android tablet should display the same Work conversations, Scheduled items, and Project conversations.

Synchronization behavior should be consistent regardless of which client originally created the Work object.

Additional information

Additional observations from testing:

  • Regular chats synchronize correctly.
  • Standard Work chats created from Web synchronize correctly.
  • The issue is reproducible across multiple Work-related features, including:
  • Continue in Work
  • Scheduled
  • Project Work conversations

This does not appear to be an account synchronization issue because all devices use the same account and regular conversations sync normally.

The problem appears to be specific to Work-related objects created from the Windows App.

After updating to version x.x.x.x

The issue is still reproducible.

  1. Open ChatGPT Windows Desktop App (v26.721.81911).
  1. Switch to Work Mode.
  1. Create a new Work conversation.
  1. Send a simple message.
  1. Open the same account in ChatGPT Web.

Expected:
The Work conversation appears.

Actual:
The conversation does not exist.

  1. Open ChatGPT Android.

Expected:
The same Work conversation appears.

Actual:
The conversation does not exist.

Control test:

Create a normal Chat (not Work).

Result:
Synchronization works perfectly across Windows, Web and Android.

The issue only affects Work conversations created from Windows Desktop App.

Work Mode conversations should synchronize exactly the same way as regular conversations.

Any Work conversation created on Windows Desktop App should immediately appear on ChatGPT Web and Android under the same account.

Additional observations from testing:

• Normal chats synchronize correctly in both directions.

• Work conversations created from Windows Desktop App remain isolated to the Windows App.

• Creating another Windows App window can sometimes display the Work conversation, indicating that the conversation exists locally inside the Windows client.

• ChatGPT Web never receives or displays those Work conversations.

• Android also never receives them.

This suggests the synchronization issue is specific to Work Mode rather than general account synchronization.
