Homebrew Downgrade support
Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Sep 15, 2025 by sbaechler Closed Nov 27, 2025
What feature would you like to see?
It is currently not possible to downgrade Codex when it was installed with Homebrew. Only the latest version is available. Homebrew does support multiple versions of a package.
This feature would be helpful in case Codex introduced a regression, such as #3448. Users could simply downgrade to the latest working version.
The current workaround is to use npx to run a specific version of Codex.
