Codex Windows desktop: spell-check underlines misspellings but provides no correction suggestions

Description

In the Codex desktop app for Windows, the prompt composer detects misspellings and displays the expected red underline, but it does not provide spelling correction suggestions.

Right-clicking an underlined word produces no spelling suggestions. A keyboard context-menu attempt also produced an empty list.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open any task in the Codex Windows desktop app.
2. Type an intentionally misspelled word in the prompt composer.
3. Observe that Codex underlines the word in red.
4. Right-click the underlined word.
5. Observe that no candidate corrections are offered.

Expected behavior

The composer should expose the standard Chromium/Electron spelling context menu, including:

• Candidate corrections
• Ignore
• Add to dictionary

It should respect the configured Windows language dictionary.

Actual behavior

Spell-check detection is active, as shown by the red underline, but the correction list is absent or empty.

Impact

This creates substantial friction for technical and acronym-heavy writing, including military and enterprise-architecture terminology. Dictation is not a practical workaround: speech recognition often replaces specialized terms with sound-alike words, forcing users to interrupt their reasoning and manually repair the generated text.

A functioning correction menu would preserve the speed advantage of spell checking without requiring users to maintain an impractically large speech-recognition vocabulary.
