ChatGPT Desktop on macOS does not refresh chat list when conversations are created on web or another device

What issue are you seeing?

The ChatGPT chat list in the new macOS desktop app does not update when a new conversation is created using ChatGPT on the web or another device signed into the same account.

The new conversation remains absent from the desktop app's chat list after waiting several minutes. Switching from Chat to Work and back, or navigating into a Project and back, does not refresh the list. Quitting and reopening the desktop app causes the conversation to appear.

I cannot confirm whether the list eventually refreshes after a much longer delay, but a delay of several minutes with no manual refresh path makes cross-device chat continuity unusable.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open the new ChatGPT desktop app on macOS and select the ChatGPT → Chat view.
2. On the web app or another device, sign into the same ChatGPT account.
3. Create a new regular ChatGPT conversation.
4. Return to the already-running macOS desktop app.
5. Check the chat list or Recents and wait several minutes.
6. Switch from Chat to Work and back, or navigate into a Project and back.
7. Observe that the newly created conversation still does not appear.
8. Quit and reopen the desktop app.
9. Observe that the conversation now appears.

Expected behavior

Cloud ChatGPT conversations created on another signed-in device should automatically appear in the desktop app's chat list within a reasonable synchronization interval.

There should also be a way to refresh the list without restarting the application.

Actual behavior

The desktop chat list remains stale for at least several minutes. Switching views does not refresh it. The missing conversation appears after the entire application is restarted.

Workaround

Quit and reopen the ChatGPT desktop app.
