Enable long running tasks

What feature would you like to see?

I use codex for experimenting with neural networks and other architectures. It’s a great tool, and it’s especially great when I give it a test and tell it to try various changes I have described to maximize some parameter. With the new
Codex-5 model, I’m even more excited to try this.

However, if the model has to run let’s say 3 epochs of a training session, it times out. The current timeout limit on tasks severely hinders the ability to perform scientific actual agentic work. Great that codex model can run for 7 hours straight, but if tasks cannot take more than 5 minutes, it limits its abilities.

Please prioritize a setting where I can adjust this. Let me set it to 30 min or whatever :-). I would open up new possibilities for scientific work.
