What issue are you seeing?

In general the model has improved greatly when it comes to token efficacy but i noticed the last couple of days it is very hard for the model to stay on task or even understand what is important and is just going in circles and building and build and building without recognizing all the work that was done already, even with a very tight set of rules the model simply loses track of what it is doing and messes up things, long horizon works are nearly impossible right now and i have to watch every step otherwise im just burning tokens on tasks that have to be reworked later again, when you look on how claude is operating on long tasks then you know it works a lot better in this way, even though i like codex very much and i think it is a great model it really has to be improved or you guy release the next big model because we really need it!

What is the expected behavior?

The expected behavior is that when i give codex a task and a clear set of rules that it follows those rules and don't just forget about what has already been build over weeks and weeks, we have build many things together and i made good progress but still it could be way more simple especially for people like me who only got very late into coding with Ai and are still learning but i can see the difference between Claude, codex and grok very clearly and what codex is lacking badly is keeping track of what has happened in the codebase and what effect current changes have an past implementations and future implementations. i just hope you release a much more capable model soon because we need it.
