What steps can reproduce the bug?
Connect with API key to my enterprise account with codex cli and gpt-5-codex set as the model in config.toml and put in a simple command like "summarize"
What is the expected behavior?
I would expect after the model being announced it would be present in my enterprise account for use so sending a message would result in a response.
What do you see instead?
⚠️ stream error: stream disconnected before completion: The model gpt-5-codex does not exist or you do not have access to it.; retrying 1/5 in 206ms…

gpt-5-codexis not available in API just yet but will be soon. This is expected.@pakrym-oai so are you saying that codex cli does not have gpt-5-codex if you are authenticating with API Key? None of the announcements I saw made it clear that this model was only available via chatgpt authentication mechanism.

For developers using Codex CLI via API key, we plan to make GPT‑5-Codex available in the API soon.
I seem to always be at the very end of availability. Enterprise always a week delayed, no plugin for Intellij. A bit tiresome to get excited about big announcement to be let down in some way. I hope it will be soon as you say. I will take the opportunity to say thanks for the hard work 36 was a big release and I know the team is working hard. It wouldn't be frustrating if the tools weren't so great.
