On the macOS Codex/ChatGPT app, Remote Control cannot be enabled from:

<img width="1355" height="834" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/d1288056-56dd-4b8b-9d6d-1541b138c3d9" />

The app displays either:
“Couldn’t enable remote control. Try again”
“Could not enable remote control. Please ensure only one instance of ChatGPT is running.”
Troubleshooting completed
Updated both the macOS and mobile apps
Restarted the Mac
Restarted the app
Signed out and back in
Force-quit the main ChatGPT process
Confirmed only one main ChatGPT process is running
Force-quit the ChatGPT helper processes
Confirmed that only Dock Extra (ChatGPT.app) persists, which appears to be a normal macOS helper process
Tried clicking Allow only once and received the same error
Remote Control never becomes enabled and no usable pairing is created.
