What version of the Codex App are you using?
26.727.6591.0
What subscription do you have?
Pro
What platform is your computer?
Windows 11 x64
What issue are you seeing?
The new Activity view does not support the existing keyboard shortcuts for navigating between visible tasks.
None of these shortcuts work while Activity view is enabled:
Ctrl+PageUpCtrl+PageDownCtrl+1throughCtrl+9
This makes Activity view effectively mouse-only for switching between tasks.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Open Codex Desktop.
- Enable Activity view using the bell icon.
- Press
Ctrl+PageUporCtrl+PageDown. - Press any of
Ctrl+1throughCtrl+9. - Observe that none of these shortcuts navigates to another visible task.
What is the expected behavior?
Activity view should support the same keyboard navigation as the normal task list:
Ctrl+PageUpandCtrl+PageDownshould move between visible tasks.Ctrl+1throughCtrl+9should open the corresponding visible task.
The shortcuts should follow the ordering currently displayed in Activity view, including its Priority and Recent sections.
Additional information
This was drafted by GPT-5.6 Sol, extra high (apologies for the slop).
Related issues exist for unreliable navigation in the previous sidebar:
- #32878 —
Ctrl+PgUp/PgDowndoes not reliably cycle visible tasks. - #36282 — numbered shortcuts select the wrong pinned chat after the unified-sidebar migration.
Neither issue covers the new Activity view, where both shortcut families currently fail entirely.
