What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.803.41515

What subscription do you have?

Business

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.5.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

When using a custom gpt made on the website from within the ChatGPT mode > Chat mode in the codex desktop app, any custom action tool approvals don't appear and the chat just stalls out. You have to open the browser currently and go to the chat and approve the tool call for the custom action. Then the chat will continue in both the web and the codex desktop app.

tldr. The codex desktop app needs to support action approvals for custom gpts.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Create a custom GPT on the web app
  2. Supply the custom GPT with "Actions"
  3. In the codex desktop app under chatgpt mode and then chat mode make a custom gpt request and ask it to perform an action.
  4. The chat will stall out and not show the approve tool call button.

What is the expected behavior?

A tool approval input is presented similar to the web app.
