What platform is your computer?

MacOS 26 Tahoe

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Everytime i ask for any linear update (create issue, add comment, etc) in both cli and ide

What is the expected behavior?

to perform the api call, and return the results, and see it mirrored in linear dashboard

What do you see instead?

Same here, once authenticated redirects to 'http://localhost:22227/oauth/callback?code= ...' which I'm assuming is handled by the CLI, but not by VsCode extension.

My config.toml
[mcp_servers.linear]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.linear.app/mcp", "--header", "Authorization: <personal api token>"]

Same issue here too. Fails with tool call error: tool call failed for linear/list_projects`

Also experiencing this issue with Linear MCP timing out in Codex CLI on Ubuntu container. Configuration:

[mcp_servers.linear]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.linear.app/sse"]

Error: MCP client for 'linear' failed to start: request timed out

Network connectivity verified - can reach mcp.linear.app endpoints, but mcp-remote subprocess times out when launched by Codex.

Environment: Ubuntu 22.04 container (Codespace), Codex latest version, Node v20.19.5, npx v10.8.2

This worked for me

codex mcp remove linear
codex mcp add --url https://mcp.linear.app/mcp linear
codex mcp login linear -c experimental_use_rmcp_client=true

If your on a remote sever curl the localhost url you get back in your browser on the remote.

I tiried this but as a first thing I've updated to codex. And after add mcp. It is working right now.
