Custom Codex pet disappears from picker after refresh and re-login

Description
A custom Codex pet was successfully created and selected, but it never appears in the pet picker after either:
- Refreshing the page
- Logging out of and back into the Codex desktop app
Expected behavior
The successfully created and selected custom pet remains available in the pet picker across page refreshes and desktop-app sessions.
Actual behavior
The custom pet is absent from the pet picker after refresh or logout/login.
