What version of the Codex/ChatGPT Desktop app are you using?

TBD — observed in the current, newly released ChatGPT Desktop app.

What platform is your computer?

macOS 26.5.1 (Mac model TBD)

What issue are you seeing?

Some plugin widgets render correctly in ChatGPT Desktop Work mode, but others do not.

A verified example is 1-2-3-Cook+Bake Food to eat!. In Work mode, its interactive widget is either absent or replaced by ordinary text. The same app and widget render correctly in the classic ChatGPT app.

This is not a universal widget failure: widgets from some other plugins render normally. Other plugins may be affected, but I have not tested the full catalog.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open the new ChatGPT Desktop app.
  2. Select ChatGPT and enable Work mode.
  3. Start a new chat and invoke 1-2-3-Cook+Bake Food to eat!.
  4. Make a request that normally produces its interactive widget.
  5. Repeat the same request with the same app in the classic ChatGPT app.

What is the expected behavior?

A plugin widget that works in the classic ChatGPT app should also render correctly in Work mode in the new desktop app, or the app should clearly report why that widget cannot be displayed.

Additional information

In the new desktop app, the affected widget is missing or replaced by standard text. In the classic app, it renders and works as expected. This removes the plugin's intended interactive interface and can make affected workflows significantly less useful or unusable.
