[Codex App] In-app browser disappears and reopens as a tiny floating window after switching to Chrome

What subscription do you have?

Pro.

What platform is your computer?

macOS, Apple Silicon (Darwin 24.6.0, arm64).

What issue are you seeing?

The Codex in-app browser was open as a panel on the right while completing a GitHub login. When the user switched to Chrome to copy a password, the Codex browser disappeared/minimized. When it was reopened, it came back as a tiny floating window instead of restoring the right-side panel at a usable size.

This interrupts authentication and other cross-browser workflows and makes it unclear whether the browser session was closed, minimized, or converted into a floating window.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Open the in-app browser as a right-side panel in Codex Desktop.
2. Navigate to a site that requires login.
3. Switch to Chrome to retrieve credentials or complete part of the login.
4. Return to Codex.
5. Observe that the right-side browser panel has disappeared/minimized.
6. Reopen the browser and observe that it appears as a tiny floating window rather than restoring its prior docked size and position.

What is the expected behavior?

Switching to Chrome or another app should not change the in-app browser's layout. On return, Codex should preserve and restore the browser as the same usable right-side panel, including its previous size and session.

If the panel must be detached or minimized, its state should be obvious and there should be a one-click way to restore it to the prior docked layout.

Additional context

The behavior occurred while using the in-app browser to file a Codex issue on GitHub. The login itself succeeded in Chrome, but the Codex browser UI did not restore correctly afterward.
