What issue are you seeing?
Scrolling behaves very weirdly in the new ChatGPT app vs ChatGPT Classic. I want to show a side by side comparison here (New ChatGPT on the left, ChatGPT Classic on the right). It's difficult to read along with the new ChatGPT app as it continues to scroll even when it doesn't need to, moving content up out of the view causing a huge gap of empty space at the bottom. This is only observable in regular chats, not in Work/Codex.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
- Open both apps side by side.
- Start a new regular chat in both and type "type exactly 500 words" then do it again to see how scrolling behaves in both.
What is the expected behavior?
It should behave how it did in the old ChatGPT Classic app.
Additional information
This is honestly the main reason keeping me from using the new app day to day, it's pretty much impossible to read along with what ChatGPT is doing, you have to constantly scroll up after every single message, it's very annoying.

Will not be closing as my issue appears to be the only one that actually shows a video example of the issue.
I installed chatgpt just last week and this issue literally stared me in the face after the first replies. Its so obvious and annoying. Its mind blowing how this is still an issue because the reports go back many months.
Also the "duplicates" are different issues.
Just disable auto-scroll. Its such an obvious solution.
I have this issue as well, and it's driving me crazy. Latest version of MacOS, latest version of ChatGPT app.
New ChatGPT app confines the conversation to roughly the top 25% of the window and scrolls responses inside that region; ChatGPT Classic and the browser both behave normally on the same Mac.
This is a major issue. None of the web, phone, or tablet version of the app do this. This is both a Mac and PC desktop app issue. It makes it incredibly annoying to use either.
This is still an issue on the latest build: 26.818.61809. Can someone please check this issue? I will be periodically messaging here until this gets looked at. This is ridiculous and needs to get fixed.
I still get this. Incredibly annoying. Am reverting to Claude.
Updates come in pretty much every day but this is still not fixed... Unbelievable...
