Seems like there should be an "Auto-approve" for chat/plan mode. At least for reading access.
Adding as a feature, but some may argue that is a bug.
Chat mode for other AI tools is a bit smoother, think would be good to take it as inspo.

This is the big blocker preventing me from switching from Cursor to Codex as my daily driver.
"Approve this session" is basically useless right now, because it seems to only work for an exact string match. Cursor intelligently categorizes by _type_ of action, so one approve here would cover all subsequent similar actions. Meanwhile, in Codex, my agent is battling a bug and _every single one of these commands_ has to be approved individually (and there are often hundreds). This results in a kind of babysitting that makes Codex more or less useless for open-ended / difficult tasks.

Thanks for the feature request. This hasn't received any further upvotes or comments in a couple of moths, so I'm going to close.
Codex already supports a read-only mode, and you tool calls that perform read-only operations don't require any approval in this mode.
