"Update Available" message is broken in some situations

• Open iTerm2 Build 3.5.14
• run codex in the untrusted folder or codex resume

What is the expected behavior?

Show the following message at the top:

✨⬆️ Update available! 0.38.0 -> 0.39.0.
Run brew upgrade codex to update.

What do you see instead?
