What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.810.52044

What subscription do you have?

plus

What platform is your computer?

x64

What issue are you seeing?

I’ve run into a rather strange subscription issue with my ChatGPT Plus account:

I successfully paid for a Plus billing cycle on June 22, and the next renewal was originally scheduled for July 22. However, due to a payment method issue, the July 22 bill currently shows as "Expired/Renewal Failed."

It is now August 17—nearly a month since the renewal failed—yet my account still shows as ChatGPT Plus, and the Plus features remain fully functional; the only issue is a persistent notification prompting me to "Check payment method."

My Codex "Weekly Usage" is now down to just 1%, so I’m planning to upgrade directly to ChatGPT Pro.

I have a few questions:

Why does my account still retain Plus benefits nearly a month after the renewal failed?
If I upgrade to Pro now, will a new, full Pro subscription cycle start from today?
Or will the system first process that unpaid Plus bill from July 22?
Is there a possibility that I’ll be charged for the Pro subscription and have the outstanding Plus payment deducted retroactively?

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Feedback ID: 01a00d58-08d6-7d63-9ae5-048f541aa764

What is the expected behavior?

I urgently need an answer because I have only 1% of my usage allowance left; I need to decide whether to upgrade to Pro or wait for the reset.
