Browser plugin fails trusted-path check; Chrome native host reported out of date
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
26.814.41407
What subscription do you have?
Plus
What platform is your computer?
Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 (x64)
What issue are you seeing?
The Codex app cannot control either the in-app browser or Chrome.
In-app browser error:
Trusted RPC dependency must resolve within a configured trusted code path: file:///C:/Users/acer/.codex/plugins/cache/openai-bundled/browser/26.814.41407/scripts/browser-service.mjs
Chrome error:
I can’t navigate Chrome in this session because its Codex native host is out of date. Please update or reinstall the Codex Chrome plugin, then ask me again to open it.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open a webpage in the Codex in-app browser.
- Ask Codex to inspect or navigate the page.
- Browser initialization fails with the trusted-code-path error.
- Try using Chrome instead.
- Chrome reports that the Codex native host is out of date.
I restarted Codex, reopened the browser, and retried. The errors persist.
Expected behavior:
Codex should connect to the open browser and inspect or navigate the page.
Actual behavior:
Both available browser-control routes fail before Codex can access the page.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Feedback ID: 01a01895-7d41-7b33-9832-02786e4ccbfe
What is the expected behavior?
Codex should connect to the open in-app browser or Chrome session and be able to inspect and navigate the webpage. Browser control should load without a trusted-path error or native-host version mismatch.

Have it resolved or not I still facing the same issues
Why has this been closed @firstsightcreative-svg without an explanation? This is clearly a bug, not working on my mac os with chrome as well. Installed the most recent codex chrome extension and is not able to manage chrome any longer.
