Subject: Urgent — Codex Browser control stopped working and is blocking my GoHighLevel project

Hello OpenAI Support,

I’m experiencing a persistent problem with Browser control in the Codex desktop app on Windows.

Browser control worked correctly on 18 August 2026. Codex was able to inspect and interact with my logged-in GoHighLevel account through the in-app browser.

Since 19 August 2026, Browser control has failed every time. The in-app browser still opens normally, GoHighLevel loads correctly, and I remain logged into the correct account. However, Codex cannot inspect, click, type, save, or otherwise interact with the page.

The exact error reported by Codex is:

Trusted RPC dependency must resolve within a configured trusted code path: file:///C:/Users/steve/.codex/plugins/cache/openai-bundled/browser/26.814.41407/scripts/browser-service.mjs

The affected Browser plugin version appears to be:

26.814.41407

I have already tried the following:

  • Restarted the Codex desktop app.
  • Restarted my Windows PC.
  • Reopened the in-app browser.
  • Confirmed that GoHighLevel loads successfully.
  • Confirmed that I am logged into the correct GoHighLevel account.
  • Retested Browser control repeatedly across multiple days.

The same trusted-code-path error continues to occur.

This appears to be an internal Browser plugin packaging or trusted-path configuration problem rather than a GoHighLevel login problem. It is blocking the completion and launch of a live business sales funnel.

Please escalate this to the Codex desktop or Browser-control technical team and advise:

  1. Whether this is a known issue.
  2. Whether there is a workaround.
  3. Whether the Browser plugin can be repaired or updated.
  4. When I can expect Browser control to work again.

Please let me know if you need logs, screenshots, my Codex app version, or any other diagnostic information.

Thank you,

Steve
