POP UP Window doesn't respond after a question

macOS — ChatGPT 26.818.22352 (build 6872).
When I submit from the keyboard-shortcut window, the task completes but no assistant response appears there. The conversation and response are visible only in the main window. The shortcut switches to Code mode.

Additional confirmation from #40090:

Reproduced in the unified ChatGPT macOS app on 26.818.41509 (build 6962), so the problem persists beyond the original report's build 6872.
Platform: macOS 26.5.2 (25F84), Apple Silicon (arm64).
Reproduced on two separate Apple Silicon laptops, beginning immediately after upgrading.
Restarting the app and resetting popup-related local state did not resolve it.
Diagnostic logs show the hotkey conversation is created and turn/start succeeds. The popup is visible/focused at submission, but is visible=false and focused=false by response completion.
The assistant reply is generated successfully and stored in the conversation; it appears only in the main window.

This supports a popup window lifecycle/regression issue rather than generation failure or machine-specific preference corruption. No conversation content, account information, or raw logs are included.
