Giving percents only is pretty useless. This should look like this:
Usage Limits:
5h limit: 1% used, reset at: 19:35
Weekly limit: 88% reset at: 23.09.2025 16:32
Is it a rolling limits or has a specific reset?
Maybe someone knows better than me, but all I've seen is a "weekly limit". I haven't seen anything about when that resets. I haven't used codex in 4 days roughly, and I am sitting at about 95% weekly usage according to the latest update. At least from the one time I got it to work. Interesting, I have gotten both about 95% usage and that I've hit my limit since the update. That is sending the super long prompt of "hi". Seems /status doesn't show your actually limits unless it can successfully run a prompt. Feels like if it knows I've hit my limits, it should be able to update /status with as much. But, that's just me. So, feels like a specific reset, but who knows how they figure out what when that is.
it's impossible that everyone hitting a weekly limit after one day of use. It's 100% a bug!!!!!
The same issue is for the 5 hours window, too: I want to know if I am at 80% of usage at the beginning of the 5 hour window or the end of the 5 hour window.
Seems fixed in 0.41.0 by https://github.com/openai/codex/pull/4111
