Not able to login with API key in Cursor

What version of Codex is running?

Cursor version:
Version: 1.6.45 (Universal)
VSCode Version: 1.99.3
Which model were you using?
gpt-5
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 24.6.0 arm64 arm
What steps can reproduce the bug?
I've installed Codex extension in cursor and tried to login with my OPENAI API key, but it gives the following error:

The api key is valid and it's working in other apps.
Cursor is updated to latest version.
What is the expected behavior?
should be able to login with a valid api key
