It does not make any sense to have a weekly limit when i used it just for one day in pro account. Is it a display issue or is it real????? 2% limit in 5 hours is 1% limit in weekly usage now??? which means if you do 10 hours you hit your weekly limit???? 256K tokens hit 1% weekly limit which looks like we have 2.5M tokens per week in pro. The math does not add up.... I hope these details will help you out figure out what's going on

Oh interesting, I'm seeing exactly 75% weekly usage as well on a Pro account. I've been using Codex enough that I thought it was legitimate, but this makes me wonder...
I am using other competitors and never hit a session limit or weekly limit. I am pretty sure it's a bug, we are not paying pro to use it for 1 day!!!
If i got blocked i will cancel my account as I cannot imagine paying a pro to get limit like plus. I hope they get it fixed soon as it's a road blocker

I just confirmed that when the 5-hour limit increases by 2%, the weekly limit goes up by 1%. It looks like a bug.
weekly limit shall be 20x 5 hour limit in normal way same as any other competitor and as pro we shall not think about limit when you are doing normal development as it should be almost limitless due to the price

no we are talking about rate limit that can block you from using codex for a week
Haven’t used codex in about 4 days. Hit the limit late last week supposedly. Today after the update I got one run in of “hi” which said I was at 95% weekly. Been locked out from it since. And the status command won’t tell you what your limits are at unless it can successfully run something.
I'm not at 75%, but the weekly limit is moving faster than the 5 hour limit, which seems strange.
They need to know it probably people will see it also and share on X to tag Sam Altman

I have written the exact same annoying complaint on X! The weekly limit percentage moves faster than the 5h limit and I'm on pro!
But nobody is reacting from OpenAI! Every 2 prompts my weekly limit goes up like 1%! It's very stressful to the point I'm scared to use it.

I'm at 30% weekly limit, and it's not changing (?) Maybe this only calculates that one project. With this doubt in mind, I created a new session. And this is what I get.

Same system. There is something wrong with Codex CLI on Ubuntu 25.10. I have not even consumed more than 46% of the context window and im locked out for 3 days
I’m really wishing I hadn’t updated to 0.40.0 as I am working on larger project this week and will be locked out by the end of the night at the current rate.
Check now they resetted the weekly limit to 0. Hopefully as pro we shall not endure this next time but great that we raised the concerns and they worked it out fast...
I haven't used more than 3 prompts and I'm locked out. The /status command shows 0 usage, meanwhile.

Admittedly, having weekly used percentage more than 5h is confusing. Specially, when you cannot see the reset time. Just a clarification, the rate limits didn't reset on
v0.40.0. Thus, high usage percentage doesn't mean your limits are less, maybe it's going to be reset very soon.We are working on getting the reset time today #4111 so you can have better visibility and understanding. I'd encourage you to give it more time after to get a sense of the both usage limits and would love to hear your feedback after it.

⚠ Heads up, you've used over 75% of your weekly limit. Run /status for a breakdown.
This is crazy and nearly unusable. Imagine taking a new tool in use, like a drill, and after 2.5 days it says "Sorry can't use the drill until next monday." Nobody can design his work with tools like this. Can't tell boss or customer, sorry I can't continue until next week since my tool won't let me.
Whatever OpenAI is designing products and productionzation with this kind of crazy limits is beyond me... choose some other method but this ain't the right way. Have to change tools to get flawless workflow.
