[ChatGPT Web] Switching between alternate responses makes the answer disappear

What issue are you seeing?

On ChatGPT Web, when an assistant message has multiple alternative responses and the UI shows navigation controls such as 1/2 and 2/2, clicking the arrow to switch to the other response can make the entire assistant answer disappear.

Instead of rendering the second response, the response area becomes blank / the answer is no longer visible.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Open a conversation on ChatGPT Web.
2. Use a message where ChatGPT has generated two alternative assistant responses and the response navigation arrows are visible.
3. Click the arrow to switch from the currently displayed response to the other response.
4. Observe that the assistant response disappears instead of switching to the second response.

What is the expected behavior?

Clicking the response navigation arrow should render the selected alternate response while keeping the conversation content visible.

• No error message is shown; the response content simply disappears after using the alternate-response navigation control.

There appear to be recent reports elsewhere about regressions involving message-version / response-navigation arrows, but I could not find this exact blank-response symptom in the existing issues for this repository.
