Update. 6% 5-hour is a 2% weekly on pro ...

Change from 2%→6% of the 5-hour cap coincides with 1%→2% weekly ⇒ +4% (5h cap) = +1% weekly.

So the weekly cap is 4× the 5-hour cap. Time to hit weekly at the same burn = 4 × 5 h = 20 h.

98×(4% of 5 h)=98×0.2 h=19.6 h ⇒ 19 h 36 min.

Same problem for me. The 5h limit barely moves, it's at 4% in the last 5 hours, hasn't reset yet. Meanwhile the weekly limit increased by 3%. The math isn't mathing. I'm also on the Pro plan.

How does this fix weekly limits?

Admittedly, having weekly used percentage more than 5h is confusing. Specially, when you cannot see the reset time. We are working on getting the reset time today #4111 so you can have better visibility and understanding. I'd encourage you to give it more time after to get a sense of the both usage limits and would love to hear your feedback after it.

Thank you so much for the feedback aibrahim! I'll give it some more time but it just gave me some stress because before this update I seemed to never have to worry about limits ever (even running 2-3 agents on high at the same time). If I do that now I think the weekly would already be triggered. So hopefully it's just a display bug. Thank u again for the response.

I think you should keep your usage behavior the same if it was working with you before. We didn't change anything in the limits and will add more clarity very soon.

but you released a new model (gpt-5-codex) that many users have reported to consume usage much faster than gpt-5 despite OpenAI claiming the inverse.

Can confirm this. Run 4 short promts on gpt-5-codex-high and got 7% weekly usage on Plus plan, before i could use codex-high on daily basis without hitting the limit at all, now, i will hit it within under 1 hour.

What do you think about also showing them in the status line, similar to how the remaining context tokens are displayed — at least when less than 20% remain, either for the 5-hour or the weekly quota?

Such token usage raised usage limit by 1% on both. Model: gpt-5 medium.

And last week i could have a 1 session with +3M tokens and did not faced either 5h limit or weekly one, and on next day was able to continue with same usage.

Seeing weekly limit creeping up steadily too. Two days in and around 14% while the 5 hourly limits don't cross more than 5% before the next slot.
